Gullbrandstorp: for the future image of 2050 is a socially engaged collaborative project in which the residents of Gullbrandstorp were invited to archive and share their experience of living in the town today, in anticipation for the redevelopment of the area in 2050. The aim of this project is to narrate the present for the future: to offer the residents a platform to narrate their current life in the town for the benefit of future generations, to make an archive of their own experiences in the world by documenting what is happening around them and how they are imagining the future of the town.
The project started with invitation letters sent to all residents in Gullbrandstorp and an informative board placed close to the bicycle path in town. It was developed through a series of workshops with local students, as well as online and on-site conversations with locals, Halmstad’s kulturförvaltningen, and other practitioners who work with socially engaged projects in different communities.
Sixty two participants of different ages contributed to the project over a period of six months. This publication explores the development of the project and contains all their contributions.

Gullbrandstorp: för Framtidsbild 2050 är ett socialt engagerat kollaborativt projekt i vilket invånarna i Gullbrandstorp bjöds in för att arkivera och dela sina erfarenheter av att bo på orten i dag, inför områdets nyutveckling 2050. Målet med projektet är att berätta för framtiden om vår tid: att erbjuda invånarna en plattform för att berätta om sitt nuvarande liv till gagn för framtida generationer, för att skapa ett arkiv av sina egna erfarenheter i världen genom att dokumentera vad som händer omkring dem och hur de föreställer sig ortens framtid.
Projektet startades med inbjudningsbrev som skickades ut till alla invånare i Gullbrandstorp och en informationstavla som placerades nära cykelbanan på orten. Det utvecklades genom en serie workshops med lokala studenter, så väl som samtal online och på plats med ortsbor, Halmstads kulturförvaltning, och andra utövare som arbetar med socialt engagerade projekt i olika grupper.
Sextiotvå deltagare i olika åldrar bidrog till projektet under sex månader. Denna publikation utforskar projektets utveckling och innehåller alla deras bidrag.
